This archival, hand-sewn journal/sketchbook is made from 100 gsm, white Hahnemühle Ingres mouldmade paper from Dassel, Germany, made on the same site since 1584. It is sewn with Irish linen thread in a modified pamphlet stitch.
Its boards are wrapped in a 1951 map of the United States of America, and the book is half-leathered in Alran French goatskin that was processed at Rocky Mountain Leather Supply in Sandy, Utah.
The talisman in this book is a gilded souvenir from the 1939 New York World’s Fair held in Flushing Meadow, New York. Its obverse depicts the inauguration of George Washington on the 150th anniversary of that historic occasion.
