Grand Canyon
This archival, hand-sewn journal/sketchbook is made from 100 gsm, custard colored Hahnemühle Ingres mouldmade paper from Germany, sewn with Irish linen thread in the linked pattern that was developed by the ancient Copts. This stitch allows the book to lay open easily at any page.
This book’s endbands are green and white cotton, and its bookmark is goatskin. Its boards are wrapped in a 1940 map of the Southwestern States, and its spine is covered in French goatskin.
The talisman in this book is a 1969 souvenir medallion celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona. No one knows exactly how the Grand Canyon was formed; 250-million-year-old rock layers lie directly against 1.2 billion-year-old rocks within the canyon. Be mysterious, be breathtaking, be vast.
