This archival, hand-sewn journal/sketchbook is made from 100 gsm, white Hahnemühle Ingres mouldmade paper from Dassel, Germany, made on the same site since 1584.  It is sewn with Irish linen thread in the linked stitch pattern that was developed by the ancient Copts.  This stitch allows the book to lay open easily at any page.

 The book’s endbands are pigskin, and its and bookmark is goatskin. Its boards are wrapped in a 1958 map of Ireland, and it is half-leathered in Alran French goatskin that was processed at Rocky Mountain Leather Supply in Utah.

The talisman in this book is a 1961 Irish punt coin. “Punt” is an English twist on the Irish national language word for “pound.”
