$175.00
Sold Out

This archival, over-sized sketchbook is made from 80 gsm, white Mohawk Superfine paper.  It is sewn with waxed Irish linen thread in a linked stitch that allows the book to lie open easily at any point.

Its boards are wrapped in paper that was hand-marbled by Jemma Lewis in Wiltshire, England, and the book is half-clothed in Dubletta book cloth from the Netherlands.

The talisman in this book is an art-deco mid-20th Century Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award.  The company began in 1853, selling eyeglasses, but soon branched out into microscopes and other specialized optical lenses and photographic equipment.  They gave us CinemaScope, which drew us all into the movies.
