This archival album/scrapbook is made from 100 gsm, white Hahnemühle Ingres mouldmade paper from Dassel, Germany, made on the same site since 1584. It is sewn with waxed Irish linen thread in a modified pamphlet stitch that allows users to paste inclusions into the book.
The book’s endbands and bookmark are French goatskin.. Its boards are wrapped in a 1959 map of Europe, and the book is half-leathered in Alran French goatskin that was processed at Rocky Mountain Leather Supply in Sandy, Utah.
The talisman in this book is an 1889 souvenir coin from the premiere deck of the Eiffel Tower at the Exposition Universele, the World’s Fair at which the tower was introduced. The coin shows the relative heght of the Eiffel Tower, at the time, the world’s tallest building, compared with other large structures in the world.
