This archival journal/sketchbook is made from 85 gsm Arches hand-laid, all cotton rag paper from France.  It is sewn with Irish linen thread in the linked stitch pattern that was developed by the ancient Copts.  This stitch allows the book to lay open at any page.

Its endbands and bookmark are goatskin.  The book is half-leathered in pigskin from Landwerlen Leathers in Indianapolis, and its boards are wrapped in paper that was hand-marbled by Betty Caponi in Monte San Giusto, Italy.

The talisman in this book is a 2001 British two-pound coin.  Designed by Bruce Rushin, the coin celebrates Britain’s development from the iron age through the computer age and is a collected by numismatists.
