This archival, over-sized sketchbook is made from 80 gsm, white Mohawk Superfine paper. It is sewn with waxed Irish linen thread in a modified pamphlet stitch.
Its boards are wrapped in paper that was hand-marbled by Daniel and Regina St. John at Chena River Marblers in Amherst, MA, and its spine is covered in indigo-dyed French goatskin that was processed at Rocky Mountain Leather Supply in Sandy, Utah.
The talisman in this book is an ornament cast by type casters. It was found in a case of moveable type in our printshop, still surrounded by its type-metal flashing. A lucky find, some type caster’s folly!
