It is sewn with Irish linen thread in the linked stitch pattern that was developed by the ancient Copts. This stitch allows the book to lay open easily at any page.
The book’s endbands and bookmark are goatskin. Its boards are wrapped in a mid 20-th Century tourist map of London, England, and its spine is covered with Alran French goatskin that was processed at Rocky Mountain Leather Supply in Sandy, Utah.
The talisman in this book is a mid-20th-century commemorative coin from the Tower of London. Although the Tower of London, home to the crown jewels, is officially guarded by the Beefeaters, it is colloquially known to truly be guarded by ravens. A raven is depicted on the obverse of this coin.
