This archival, hand-sewn journal/sketchbook is made from 100 gsm, white Hahnemühle Ingres mouldmade paper from Dassel, Germany, made on the same site since 1584.  It is sewn with Irish linen thread in the linked stitch pattern that was developed by the ancient Copts.  This stitch allows the book to lie open easily at any page.

The book’s endbands are goatskin, and its bookmark is calfskin. Its boards are wrapped in paper that was hand-marbled by Joao Paulo Moriera at JPMarbling in London, England and its spine is covered in Italian calfskin that was processed at Rocky Mountain Leather Supply in Sandy, Utah. Its gilding was hand-applied using one of our centuries old bronze tools.

The talisman in this book is a1962 French cruise ship medal.  Its obverse reads: “Elle Poursuit son Essor Technique l’Conomique Social.”
