Travels with Charley
This archival, hand-sewn album/scrapbook is made from 100 gsm, rose Hahnemühle Ingres mouldmade paper from Germany, sewn with waxed Irish linen thread in tacket stitch that preserves space between the gatherings, permitting the user to insert photos or other items into the book.
The spine of this book is black leather, and its boards are covered in paper that was marbled in France. The boards are lined with rose Hahnemühle Ingres mouldmade paper from Germany.
Treasure binding began with monks in the 6th Century who would encrust volumes with jewels. During the Renaissance, there was a resurgence in treasure binding. This is a contemporary revival of the treasure binding in which a lucky charm has been embedded in the cover of this book.
The talisman in this book is a magnet compass. Fill this book with memories and moments in time. It will hold them until they are history.
