Its boards are wrapped in archival paper that was hand-marbled by Jemma Lewis, in Wiltshire, England, and the book is half-leathered in calf skin from Italy that was processed at Rocky Mountain Leather Supply in Sandy, Utah. The spine ornamented with hand-laid argent.
The talisman in this book is an 19th Century, silver Treizain marriage coin. From the 5th through the 19th centuries, thirteen coins were exchanged during the traditional French marriage ceremony, symbolizing the couple’s pledge to support and protect one another throughout each year.
