This archival, hand-sewn journal/sketchbook is made from 100 gsm, antique white Hahnemühle Ingres mouldmade paper from Dassel, Germany, made on the same site since 1584.  It is sewn with Irish linen thread in the linked stitch pattern that was developed by the ancient Copts.  This stitch allows the book to lay open easily at any page.

The book’s endbands and bookmark are goatskin. Its boards are wrapped in mid-20th-century map of Paris, and its spine is covered in Alran French goatskin that was processed at Rocky Mountain Leather Supply in Sandy, Utah.

The talisman in this book is a bronze token of appreciation presented to Commandant Raymond Gromion, Inspection Technique, De L’Armee De l’Air, 1968-1970.  It shows a Seine-level view of  he Ille de Citie in Paris with the Parc Vert-Gallant in the foreground.
